The Gift of Knowledge Foundation's Volunteer Orientation Programme has reached a significant milestone, having trained and onboarded over 50 volunteers since its launch.
The programme - which every volunteer completes before beginning their service - covers the Foundation's institutional values, educational methodology, safeguarding protocols, and practical skills for working with students and communities.
Orientation sessions run for two full days and include both classroom learning and practical scenarios. Topics covered include:
Institutional overview: Understanding the Foundation's mission, governance structure, and programme delivery model.
Pedagogical approach: Learning the principles of our educational framework and how volunteers contribute to the learning environment.
Safeguarding and ethics: Comprehensive training on student welfare, confidentiality, and professional conduct.
Practical skills: Role-specific training covering tutoring techniques, event coordination, community engagement, and administrative support.
Every volunteer is assigned a dedicated coordinator who provides ongoing support, regular check-ins, and opportunities for skills development throughout their service period.
The Foundation values its volunteers as integral members of the institutional team. The satisfaction survey conducted among all volunteers showed a 98% recommendation rate, with volunteers citing the structured support system and the sense of meaningful contribution as key reasons.
