In a country where millions of young people graduate without practical skills or job opportunities, we recognized a glaring gap: education alone is not enough. The Gift of Knowledge Skill-Acquisition Scheme is our answer to this challenge — a program designed to equip young Nigerians with practical, income-generating skills that foster self-reliance and long-term success.

How did this come to our attention?

While working with students across underserved communities, we noticed a recurring pattern.
Many of our scholarship recipients, although academically bright, faced unemployment and underemployment after graduation. During outreach campaigns and mentoring sessions, youth often expressed a desire to learn trades, digital skills, and entrepreneurship — but lacked access to training programs.

The message was clear: education must go hand-in-hand with hands-on skills that lead to real economic opportunities.

There was strong growth in municipal charities. The Brougham Commission led on to the Municipal Corporations Act 1835, which reorganized multiple local charities by incorporating them into single entities under supervision from local government.
